Well I think you project well along with everyone else, but thank you for the tips! I promise not to hijack the thread anymore. Sometimes it sounds decent in my head but then when it's recorded....the blatant truth comes out. Posted Image Posted Image

Here's a tip, too, which should help a lot: Don't point the microphone at your lips, but instead point it at your neck so that when you sing the sound from your lips goes over the top of the mic and not into it. That'll give the recording a deeper, richer bass, similar to how you sound to yourself, and also virtually eliminate pops and clicks from plosive consonants.

To answer your question HH, I have a naturally pretty loud voice, but to have a loud voice while singing the trick is to take deep breaths, and sing "from the stomach" not from the chest if that makes any sense.
Keeping the microphone too close isn't good either, it just deforms the voice.
Mine is next to my screen so at about 20-30cm away from me sitting, more standing up (it's always better to stand up to sing).

Great singing voices Sky and Azayles!! And Milky, I heard your song on your thread before it's really good!
Y U SO TALENTED?! Singing is hard to master. This is why I play bass; no unfortunate fool ever has to hear my voice. ;D

Good tip, thanks!!

I agree with HH: I sometimes think I have a good voice, then I hear it somewhere like on a recording or a video and it's like LOLWHAT? I have a such a chalky manly voice.
I will try this!

No problem!
Can you find those computer microphones anywhere? I've had trouble finding one. My laptop has a built in one, but. I have a few like, studio-style microphones but I am not tech-saavy whatsoever, so good luck finding the right way to hook it up to a computer. Lol. You probably can't even do that....LOL.

I've always wanted to be in a screamo band. AAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHH.

Jordyn you could do a whole song just screaming like those rock bands do! XD The entire song would just be..."AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!" (with electric guitars in the background of course) Then we would all applause and praise you for your musical talent! LOL!

I will try the tips everyone gave next time.

About the mic, my netbook has a built in mic so I used that. I didn't even adjust it or anything? I used it for the first time on that Pocahontas recording lol.

The mic Hannah (HoppingHammy) has has a balanced XLR output, so that would need to plug into a soundcard that had an XLR input socket, or a USB adaptor.
The mic I have has the sound card built in, so it connects straight to the computer with USB

You all have good sleuthing abilities, I'll give you that much. :cheeky: I *do* indeed like my H's! :shhh:

As far as the mic goes, unfortunately we don't have the right adapter to plug in the back of my sound card (computer?? Wherever the thingy goes....) so I might just have to use the cheap-o headset mic for now. IF!

Yes you do don't you? :P You crazy lass :rotfl:

Oooh I thought you had a thing to hook it up to the computer, and that's what you used lol :P
You can get a XLR to USB cable like this http://www.amazon.com/LightSnake-STUSBXLR10-USB-Microphone-cable/dp/B000H7O9ZI
That'll work :) And the computer will see the microphone as a standard computer mic.

Lol! OOps posted this in the wrong post at first! Let's put it here instead. :shhh:

Ok, so my good friends in chat convinced me to post a song clippet and it was incredibly hard to be vulnerable like that, but I'm glad they encouraged me to do that and were very supportive. So I shall post it here as well. First word is hard for me to hit the note until it gets higher. Posted Image
