Sorry to drag up a realy old topic.

Around my area you can get tattoos under 18, but you have to have parental consent, and I also think your parent has to be with you. Or you could be stupid and try to use a homemade tattoo gun and do it yourself like my friend Goose, but I don't recomened any of you doing that.

Hmm, I can't really describe how tattoos are in my family, but my dad would never agree to me getting one even though he has two.

I really want to get tattoos when i'm older though. I have a few planned out and they all have deep meaning to me. The first one i'd like to get done would be the quote 'It does not do to dwell on dreams and forget to live', the intials APWBD underneath it, maybe have stars incorpatrated with it as well, and i want this on my left wrist. I also want to get cherries tattooed on my right ankle, i know it's kinda sterotypical and a bit un-original, but it has meaning to me, so every one else can bugger off. :cheeky: There are a few others I want, but aren't completly planned out yet. Thankfully I still have a few years before I can even get a tattoo, so I have time to think.

I've also been told I should be a tattoo artist by numerous people, I think it'd be a cool job, but i'm not really sure if it's for me, but we shall see what the future brings.

I'm getting it on my foot, which is probably a dumb idea considering its my first tattoo and the foot is one of the most painful places D:
but oh well! it will be worth it! :D

i will post a picture when I get it!

well i had designed one myself that had vines with a flower and then the words "forget me not" with more vines and a flower, but when I went for my appointment my artist drew it up on my foot and changed the design and i ended up liking it a lot more. So now its one big flower near my ankle and then "forget me not" going up my foot and across my toes.

It took 40 mins and it wasn't too bad apart from the flower (since it was right on my bone) and near one of my toes. Not as bad as I thought it would be and definitely bearable. The colouring on the flower was definitely the most painful part! I squeezed the shnizz out of my mums hands lol :P

I get my first tattoo this summer, hopefully.
My grades have to be decent, and it has to be small, since my fairly conservative mother is paying for it. I'm thinking the HRC's equality symbol or triangles on my wrists.

But once I'm 18, WUH.
Body's a canvas, and I'm going to slowly fill it. My first real tattoo, I want a half-sleeve galaxy scene.

Also, someone said, what if you're 80, with a bunch of tattoos?
I don't know if anyone replied to that, because I totally didn't read the whole thread, but my reasoning is - Who's skin looks good when they're 80 anyway? It shouldn't stop you from getting tattoos, because no offense to seniors, but nobody ever looks all that great anyway. Everyone's going to age the same way. What should it matter if you have tattoos? ;)

FH, I like it. :)

Holy heifers Fudge, that looks like it hurt! I always figured feet/hand tattoos would hurt because of how boney they are haha.
Looks really good though, I like it! :)

My parents are morbidly against me getting tattoos. I am trying to negotiate being able to the get my first when I turn 18... next summer.

Uh, yeah I want to get a memorial tattoo for my grandma who passed away of cancer. She loved bluejays; the baseball team and the bird; so I wanted to draw something up so it would be more personal. I'd also like to incorporate some lyrics, but I haven't quite decided what yet. I want it on my left forearm... I'm left handed, and your left arm is closest to your heart, so I thought it seems like another subtle and personal touch. She was extremely important to me, and what better way to honor her memory.

That won't be the last, though. I want a koi fish on my calf, and my right sleeve done with important things in my life... such as music.
I've done a lot of thinking for many years to what I want, and when I'm 18 no one will have legal rights over my body anymore. My mom has 3, and I hate getting into arguments where she says I can't until I'm 26... :cheeky:

No kidding. I heard feet, wrists, and behind your ears are the most painful places for tattoos. And upper chests.
But apparently it didn't hurt so much Fudge? I'm not sure why, but I'd be really nervous about getting a tattoo on my foot.

It did hurt a lot, but was bearable and definitely worth it. I didn't cry or faint (as I thought I would cos I'm a fainter lol)
It was right on the bone for certain areas and was very painful, so it's definitely not a spot for people who don't handle pain very well.
