That's so cute Elyse

I think the biggest thing happening right now for me is that my mom said yes to a pair of sugar gliders! I'm so excited and happy

I am posting for the first time in here because I've just come home from a long day of interning, I'm only on week 2, and things are really great.
Last week I would have said something quite opposite. But that's mainly because I came in thinking someone would formally train me every hour of my time there. But I quickly learned that it's up to me to get trained, so I have to seek out people willing to let me sit in or to ask questions or to go on the computer.
I'm a mental health counselor for children and adolescents, and I'll be working with low income people, so mostly those on Medicaid. I'll also be working with kids who are either just out of psychiatric hospitalization, or who just missed the criteria to be hospitalized.
This will be heavy work.
But the people I've met and have started working with so far are the best bunch of people possible, and I am not worried at all that I will be trained and ready by the time I start to get clients of my own.
This is a huge step for me.. it's like my first real job (although, as interns we do NOT get paid), but basically this is what the rest of my life will consist of, work-wise, and I am starting to get enthusiastic about it.

So I posted this picture of late Millie enjoying her cupcake, and it WON. It ruddy well won didn't it? :P They even featured it on their timeline
And I never win anything! Totally over the moon
Awe, this totally warms my heart- lovely Millie's legacy lives on. I even looked on that face book page and Millie's photo has over 500 like! Absolutely precious, such a memorable ham

And I don't have to resit the module I thought I was going to have to because I'm an idiot and wasn't counting my lab credit when I saw how many needed to continue on the honours degree programme and so I have 110 credits not 90 like I thought.
And I must have done well in my May exams because to be honest I didn't perform well in January but my average isn't bad.
And I got my results the best way possible, they're released online on Monday and I was stressing so much about it, but I randomly got a letter from uni today that told me my average so I hadn't been sitting anticipating it :P

Also, Peanuts tail has completely healed up after he chewed off about half of it!

I'm super excited at the moment for two reasons!
1. Yesterday I picked up two African Dwarf Frogs and two mice

2. Today, I signed up to sponsor a dog with a local animal charity. They rescue 5000+ animals every year, but unlike the other big shelters in London they are 100% no-kill. For that reason, the government doesn't give them any money so they rely on the general public's donations. I give over £10 a month starting in September, and in return they send me pictures and updates of the dog I'm sponsoring. And the best part is that I can actually adopt the dog at any point if I want to! I've never had a dog before, so this is kinda like having one, and hopefully one day I might actually be able to adopt him/her

So I'm reallly excited about getting to see the dog
Oh, and on top of that I get cheap vet care at their shelter's surgery because I'm a sponsor!
That's sooo cool Genevie! They sound like an amazing charity and how nice of you to help sponsor. You need to show us the photo once you see the doggie you are sponsoring!

1. Firstly, I'm happy because a whole bunch of stressful, overwhelming "online issues" have finally been sorted and I feel like I've come through all of it much stronger, knowing who I am, and learning some skills along the way of how to deal with things and not let them upset me anymore. Life will continue to throw things my way, I'm sure.....there's no avoiding it......but I've learned so much the past couple of months and am no longer going to stress out over stupid things or caring what people think about me or judge me with. It feels very freeing.

2. School is starting next month and I'm very excited to enrich my photography skills to become better at this and hopefully have a decent career.
3. I have so many projects that are turning out well and having things to work on/complete gives me this happy energy and feeling of accomplishment.
4. I love and adore my close friends. Those who are always there for me and understand/forgive me when I make mistakes. I'm so blessed and so thankful for everyone who chooses to allow me to share in their life.

This is just amazing news, I'm so happy for you! I feel inspired by just reading your words

Today was super fantabulous

At the wildlife center, I got to teach one of the new volunteers. She was the sweetest person ever; she was so cheery, and nice, and positive, it made me want to shower her with all the good things you can give people

I also surprised some people at "work" (which is what my parents call it, which I secretly love because it feels all official-like even though I'm just a volunteer LOL) because they thought I was college age when I'm actually just 16 and in high school.
In order to work with most mammals, like bats, coyotes, raccoons, skunks, and bobcats, you have to get rabies vaccinated. It's usually expensive, about $300 to $500 per shot with two or three shots in total (plus boosters later on). We were talking about it and a fellow volunteer told me that my insurance agency will provide rabies shots for free or at least a very low cost. Woohoo! I'm going to call tomorrow to double check and hopefully schedule an appointment.
Plus my desk is so clean! Well, my dad threw everything into my room because he was using this table for some important meeting, but it feels so nice and empty (though I know it'll clutter up in like two days lol).
And last but not least, I just finished off a delicious sandwich, and I'm eating some super sweet blueberries right now.
