I have a question, when I feed the hamsters, I feed them Hazel Hamster food, with a few oxbow pellets and 2-3 mealworms, with a little veggie. Does this seem like a good diet??

I would take out the Oxbow pellets All it's doing is lowering protein. Otherwise, it seems pretty good!

May I get a constructive criticism of my diet? It’s listed in my signature below. Thanks in advance!

You'll probably get the best feedback if you make this it's own individual post.

Go to the main page of the Food & Nutrition forum- at the top of the page, just above the topics and posts, on the right hand side is a black button that says "Start New Topic".

This helped me so much! I've only been feeding my hamster the OxBow Essientials pellets and I switched to a seed mix with 3-5 pellets a day and he has been so much more active! Thanks!

I wouldn't say pro biotics in the food would determine quality. You would have to call the company and ask when they add them, after the food has been processed or before. Pro biotics are very sensitive to temperature.
Oxbow only uses prebiotics for this reason and due to the fact there isn't a whole lot of research out there in terms of probiotics and hamsters and what digestive enzymes actually benefit them. if someone can send me a link to a study on this it would be greatly appreciated.
