Here's the next two chapters:
Chapter 3
Now I know what life is actually supposed to be like. I have a giant wheel, giant hide, giant cage, giant everything! My owner still hasn’t touched me, but that’s nice, I’m still settling in, so I’m glad she doesn’t claw me out of this wonderful cage. It doesn’t even feel like a cage! I’ve expanded my burrow quite a bit more, so that now I can run from one side of my cage to the other underground. The whimzee is almost completely gone, even though I’ve tried so hard to savour it. The other day, I stumbled upon something new! (That’s how big my cage is!) It’s a tray filled with some sand. I dug in it for a while, but then had an idea. I rolled over again, and again, and again, and again… After that I felt so clean! Cleaner than my paws, or even mom had ever made me! It had been a week since the owner brought me home to my cage, and for the first time, she was opening my cage! I had been getting bored recently, after I had claimed everything in my cage and discovered everything, so I was happy that there would be something new to do. The owner offered me an empty box. This was like the day at the tank with hay pellets, (Hey, I really hate those pellets), with the tiny cage! I stepped inside the box confidently. “Good girl” I could tell from the tone of her voice she was happy with me. The box was carried away, up some steps cut into the owner’s cage, and into a new room. She set me down in a giant, smooth white cage with a towel, food scattered around, and some of my toys, (Aha! That’s where those went!) and sat down in there too. I thought I was supposed to sit, so I did. We had a staring contest. I won easily. I finally decided that if she wasn’t going to do anything, I would. I scampered towards a walnut, one of my favourites. Tasty. One of those striped seeds was next. Then flax, then a few oats, and so on. I carried on eating seeds and nuts until I looked up and saw that I was right in front of the owner. She was smiling. I wondered that if I stepped closer, she’d laugh. I did. Then I stepped even closer. I put a paw on her leg. She laughed. I put another paw up. Her hand moved towards a seed. I jumped back, and she Picked up the seed, and offered it to me, just in front of me. I snatched it and gobbled it up in two bites. Then I looked up, as if to say, more? She took a piece of walnut, and offered it. I took it. Another seed, this one resting on her leg. I accept your challenge! Reaching up, two paws on her, I took it, pouching this one. An oat, placed higher up her leg. I’d have to climb up onto her to get to it. I gave her a wary glance. Now she looked worried, as if she thought I might run away at any second. That scared me. She’d always been so confident, especially that day when she stopped the employee. My brain was telling me to take that oat, cheer her up. However, my instincts had other ideas. Before I knew what I was doing, I was racing away from her, into my hide. I peeked out again, to see her looking disappointed. I wish I had taken that oat. What if she gives me away, or worse, back to the place with the hay pellets?
Chapter 4: Owner's Perspective
I really wish I hadn’t been so bold with her. I should have just let her get used to my voice and scent. I hated that pet store! Seriously, I don’t want that terrible cage, or my hamster having a terrible fear of humans because some employee couldn’t help tearing a hide off of that poor hamster. My friends are all asking me what I’m going to name her. Is it wrong to want to get to know a hamster before naming her? I guess I’ll try bathtub bonding again tomorrow.

Right now it’s 10:00 p.m. I’ve stayed up late so I can try bathtub bonding again This time, I want her to feel comfortable, so I’ve waited until she’s awake on her own. I placed the shoebox once more in her cage, waited for her to climb in, then carried her up to the bathroom. I let her go in the tub, but this time let her explore for a while before introducing myself. When I sat down, she scampered away, but almost immediately came back to sniff me. She seemed very confident, so I decided to place another oat on my leg. I love the feeling of those tiny paws on my leg. She took the oat and ate it, one paw still on me. She looked up with that begging look that seemed to say, ”more?” I gave her a walnut, then offered my finger for her to sniff. She smelled, then found a nearby flax seed, and made it disappear in less than two seconds. Another seed was set on my leg, and she came up again. I held my breath. It was in this position when she ran last time. She glanced my way, then placed her two paws on my leg once more, and proceeded to stretch longer that I thought was possible, trying to get the seed. Eventually she gave in, and placed her third and fourth paws on my leg, boosting herself up. After grabbing the pumpkin seed, she ran away as fast as her tiny legs could carry her, (which was pretty fast) to a hide I’d placed. I could hear her munching away, and after a while she poked her little nose out, and when I placed the shoebox in the tub, she ran in readily. I took this as a sign she was done for tonight, and honestly I was feeling pretty tired too. As soon as she was in her cage, she went right to her sand bath, and cleaned herself. I went to bed almost immediately after. Unfortunately, I didn’t sleep for some time, thanks to her running on her wheel like crazy. Maybe, I thought sleepily, she wasn’t that tired as in ‘I’m going to sleep now tired’ as she was tired of me.
