I had another topic for this but I kinda lost it. Anyways, I recently got in to baking/cooking again, and its oddly relaxing, so I figured I would share some good recipes :)

Garlic Knots- https://tasty.co/recipe/garlic-knots

You may need to heap the last half cup of flour, and eyeball the butter instead. There also good in ANY shape, lol. I made these and they lasted 15 minutes (please note I live with 4 people and I only got one). 9/10 for the recipe needing a lot of adjusting butter wise. You may also want to broil for thr last few minutes if your didn't get brown, and put a half teaspoon of garlic powder in the dough. I replaced half the salt with garlic salt.

Lemon Cakkkkkkeee- https://anitalianinmykitchen.com/lemon-cake/

For this, you can use any pan. If you use a bundt pan, use this then scrape the edges after cooling- https://www.ifyougiveablondeakitchen.com/grease-cake-pan-release/

For the milk and oil I just measured out the oil, took a picture/marked where it ended, added it to the recipe, then same with the milk. If you put out the lemon, eggs, and milk then mix the flour and let it sit for a little over an hour, it works P E R F E C T. My milk was slightly cold and I made it all by hand, though. I was planning on glazing but I'm lazy and just did powdered sugar with some yellow decorating powder, and a few sprinkles. Anyways, I made it super quick, I could put most of it in the dishwasher (and handwash the rest while it baked), and the decorating was easy as well. It tastes amazing, though I may add a tiny vanilla or lemon extract for a hint more flavor next time. I made this today and its amazing (theres only half left lol).

Just some recipes I made recently. I don't bake a lot (right nowww), but I do want to start a bakery or something as an adult. Pastries, and cakes are what I prefer to do because I like how creative I can be with it, though I'm trying to try more food things. I have plans to make some apple turnover-pop tart hybrids tomorrowish, and cupcakes on thursday :)

Here is my rocky road recipe! I like to add different things depending on the person or my mood!

you will need:

- 200g of dark chocolate (sometimes I use 100g plain dark and 100g dark chocolate orange cuz it’s yum and why not)

- 200g of digestive biscuits (graham crackers if you are in America)

- 135g of salted or unsalted butter (genuinely doesn’t make a difference, just whatever you have)

- 100g of mini marshmallows

- 50g of Maltesers, you can bash em up or leave em whole

- 50g of whatever else you like, sometimes I use cookie dough bites, fudge pieces, popcorn (actually very nice) or just more maltesers

method:

- melt your butter and your chocolate over a saucepan of boiling water (or in the microwave I guess) and take off the heat to cool once done

- while that’s cooling bash up your biscuits/crackers (very good for stress relieving)

- then once your chocolate is relatively cool mix your marshmallows, crumbled biscuit, maltesers and other ingredients of choice together

- line a square (or rectangular) tin with grease proof baking paper. If you want the rocky roads to be chonky use a small tin, if you want them to be thin use a large tin

- pop the mixture in and leave it to set for a few hours in the fridge

- cut them up, I’ll leave the size to you ;3

enjoy! Let me know if you want me to convert the amounts, I’ll just edit it if so :veryhappy: :pooh:

I’m not sure whether I should be shocked and appalled or sad that you haven’t got to experience them! They are sort of like a small round biscuit that melts in your mouth coated in chocolate, I’m not sure what the US equivalent is, sorry I thought they were a universal thing XD

Following this because I love food too!

The garlic knots look really nice. I might try making them. I think they would also be nice with rosemary, and coarse sea salt sprinkled over the top. It's similar to this bread which I often make: Rosemary and sea salt focaccia recipe - BBC Food

These aren’t for hamsters don’t worry! With LBDs permissions we should also add some hamster recipes XD

Yes I’ve just googled whoppers and they look like the same thing XD
It doesn’t even have to be those, just any sort of chocolatey candy works fine! Apple turnovers sound awesome! Please share how it went pastries aren’t my strong point.... I may have added too much baking soda to scones once but that’s a totally different story lol

I didn't make them yet because I'm waiting for the kitchen to heat up (its in the negatives outside), but heres the recipe. I've made it twice already, but I always fold it like a pop tart. I may add a touch of vanilla glaze as well-https://www.dessertfortwo.com/apple-turnovers/

I won't ask any questions about the scone o-o

I just use my hands to mash up the butter and flour, add everything else, chill in the fridge while I walk Jack, then I cut the dough, make the filling, put the filling in the dough, fold, and bake (preheat while cutting dough) :)
