Gonna do this instead of my own homework cause i be like that.

 

Although tater is right, this is very long way.

 

look at the following forumla:

 

(a ± b)² = a² ± 2ab + b²

 

therefore, (-1+x²)(-1+x²) = (-1+x²)² = (-1)² + 2(-1)(x²) + (x²)² = 1 + -2x² + x^2*2 = x⁴ -2x² + 1

 

(1-3x²)² = (1)² - 2(1)(3x) + (3x²)² = 1 - 6x + 3²x^2*2 = 9x⁴ - 6x + 1

 

 

Also, remmber these are just expressions, but if these were equations ( {expression}  = {expression} ) and the equation would equal to zero (  (1-3x²)² = 0 ) then you could "drop" the exponenet (i.e. divide by (1-3x²) ) and then just solve as a normal 2nd power polynomial ( 3x² - 1 = 0).  Also exponents with variables are stuff like 2^x not x² :0

Hey, it's okay to procrastinate sometimes, BUT GO DO YOUR HOMEWORK V!! (I know it's been a while, and I hope you've already done it by now. If not, go pick up your butt and do it now!!) :3

 

Anyways, thanks so much for the advice!! We have our test over all this stuff on Tuesday, which I'm honestly really nervous about, but I think I'll do fine on it. 

I literally had no idea that this formula was a thing, and it does seem much easier than said "FOIL." I don't think I'm allowed to use anything besides FOIL at the moment though, because my teachers simply have no confidence in me

Nah, kidding. They have confidence that Ima pass my classes, but that's about it. Anywho, your advice will be very much helpful in the future!! I shaw try this method out sometime very soon (after the test so my brain doesn't explode)!!

I also got stuck while solving this equation. I have tried myself a lot but can't get the right.
