We already have a topic like this, but it's super old and...it's time for a new one for current members, eh? *screams in canadian*

Book recs, fanfics, whatever you read and want to recommend to other people haha?

I'm sorry, I'm just hungry for more reading material, but books. Are. So. Expensive. I love my fantasy, especially children's fantasy, because it seems like that's the only thing that's not full of adult content? But yea, fantasy is brilliant and a wonderful escape from reality, sooo...

Book recs! :DDDDDD If y'all have any, don't be shy :))))

*whispers* we're all friends here

besides, let's face it. everyone on hh is a big nerd in their own capacity. time for us to really embrace it.

These are some of the fantasy books that I dearly loved as a teenager. Some are modern day fantasy, some are greek mythology, some not of this world, some vampire books. All of the vampire books on this list were made WELL before the Twilight series and are definitely more original lol.

Elantris - Brandon Sanderson (magic fantasy)

Blood and Chocolate - Annette Curtis Klause (vampire fantasy)

The Silver Kiss - Annette Curtis Klause (vampire fantasy, a bit dark, don't read if you don't like themes about death but still an excellent book)

Nightseer - Laurell K Hamilton (magic fantasy, don't read any of her other books, they aren't for children!!!! and frankly, they aren't really fantasy either)

In the Forests of the Night - Amelia Atwater Rhodes (vampire fantasy)

Sirena - Donna Jo Napoli (greek mythology)
Companions of the Night - Vivian Vande Velde (vampire fantasy)

Dragon's Bait by Vivian Vande Velde (magic fantasy)

Seraphina - Rachel Hartman (magic fantasy)

Demons Don't Dream - Piers Anthony (magic fantasy)

There are probably more that I have forgotten because I have read thousands of books.

One piece of advice I would give any young reader. KEEP YOUR BOOKS. I have spent years trying to track down books, that I read as a kid that I have forgotten the titles to. Just because you've read it a thousand times, doesn't mean you won't forget the name after years lol

I saw they both die at the end in my schools library, but had too many loans out to get it at the time. How was it?

Ahhhh
I love reading so much y’all

My favourites rn are:

You’ve reached sam- very sad book btw only read it if you’re prepared to cry

The upside of falling

Everything everything

The sun is also a star

The lucky list- btw this one is LGBT so it is more diverse than the typical romance

Five feet apart

All this time- this legit messed up my emotions for days and made me cry y’all it’s so underrated

And a ton of others I’m too lazy to write rn hehe

I’m planning on getting some new books soon including:
Monday’s not coming
Flowers for Algernon (very much outside my typical genre but we shall see if I enjoy it)

And whatever y’all recommend to me lol

I like sad romances

Plz recommend me some books

Not quite a romance, but I think you’d enjoy Remarkably Bright Creatures by Shelby Van Pelt. It’s a super cool book and while it’s not really romantic, it’s sad and about love/family in a way.

I’ve read so little books that I’ll just name 2:

A series of unfortunate events (IT’S A CHILDREN’S BOOK AND THERE’S REPETITIVE MURDER AND ARSON (sorry for caps lock) )

Warrior cats-

I really don’t know what to write other than those ones-

So uh…. I’ve really struggled with reading recently. I used to enjoy it but now I find every book so boring now, nothing really engages me. I find it really hard to even get past the first chapter.

Any books you’d recommend for getting back into reading? I really like sad stuff, action, fast paced books (action on each page), and books with a fantastic beginning so I don’t give up on them too soon.

(I think due to my marvel addiction I forgot how to read a book ;-;)
