I was trying to find some sort of page that explained photography in a way I could understand. You did  a fabulous job and I even took a good picture!thumbsup.gif cloud9.gif hug.gif hug.gifhug.gif hug.gif hug.gif hug.gif hug.gif hug.gif hug.gif hug.gif hug.gif hug.gif hug.gif hug.gif hug.gif hug.gif hug.gif hug.gif hug.gif hug.gif

Can you see the difference? This picture isn't one of my better ones but I wanted to save it for my blog. How do you like the picture though? Any more recommendations? What is the best photoshop?

Gaaah! The more I look at photography posts the more and more I want to get a new/better camera (seriously my camera isn't all that great with pictures or video or anything). Thing is I lost my iPod and my 3DS camera isn't good no matter how much I try, so yeah, people say you can make a great shot with ANY camera but I think I'm going to ask for a Ukulele and a new camera for Christmas - that and and some sort of Router Extension for my Desktop.

I'm waaaay in the back of the house so it's hard to get a good signal for the Wifi, dad said he was gonna buy me one anyway so maybe that one I don't have to ask for 8P

HH you've inspired me to learn photography ^^!

I guess that I need to start reading my camera manual! *groans* I didn't know what the "manual" and "automatic" settings were ... now I do! I don't have anywhere to photoshoot Skittles at, but I wish I could for my signature and such! :P

Now I see why so many people on this forum have fantastic photographs of their pets!  This is a wonderful tutorial; I'd use it for my students :)  I especially appreciate the examples of different lights and flashes.

You have a Photoshop tutorial and I also looked through your other photography on this forum.  You do a lot of post-editing!  Have you looked into Lightroom?  Photoshop is a powerful composite program, whereas Lightroom was designed to be a powerful photo editor.  After spending years editing in both, Lightroom makes Photoshop editing seem like climbing Mt Everest to make a snow cone!  If you can handle the expense, I think Lightroom would be a good investment for you.

If you already have it, please forgive my rant :)

Thanks for such a fantastic tutorial!

-Aly

Thank you Aly! :) I do appreciate your feedback.

I tried a Lightroom trial one time, but I think I had difficulties either figuring it out, navigating around, or some other reason. After reading what you wrote, I think I'll give it another try and see how it goes.

My favorite thing about Photoshop is using the pre set actions for color toning. It's literally one click, but it makes the photo look like an extravagant amount of work went into it. :veryhappy: It's so handy! Thanks again for your tip. I'm guessing you also do photography?
