Hi all, new member.
Sorry in advance if I'm posting this in the wrong forum.

I'm trying to make bursting boba pearls with my daughter to make boba tea.  Despite following directions on youtube, we aren't having any luck getting the boba pearls to form.

We use 1/4 teaspoon of sodium alginate mixed with juice for the pearls (blended then fridge).

We then mix 2 cups water with 2 teaspoons calcium lactate for the 'brine' to put the pearls into.

We use a large syringe, but when we push some juice out into the brine, its just going into the brine like straight liquid, not forming a ball at all.

Omg I’m SO late to this group but I would love to join if anyone still is active on here lol. A new boba place just opened near me and I LOVE them! My fav boba drink is Coconut Taro Milk Tea with tapioca pearls. Also these banners you guys made are so cute.
